Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or extra impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.
In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must select it, and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the item's name. For instance adding the suffix Glyph would make a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, with the exception of inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from the previous versions. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they are "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
This will enable the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero on failure or increases when the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it is able to be given affixes that boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base type. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to reach its max level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers may utilize a level to compare the height of the building against an established point, like an existing benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with an extremely high degree of precision and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important element of the game that can improve an item's damage, strength, or other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in rare cases.
item upgrader are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you would receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a good or a negative thing dependent on your needs and wants from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may have a unique bonus that boosts the item's power by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are offered over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.
The game also features several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is a great method to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. This is because rerolling could provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game faster.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in various ways. They can have various sizes, contain no elements at all or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not improve the quality of the item's stats when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already large.
Some set items are upgraded to meet their unique procs, which can be particularly beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).
Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to the level of the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the requirements for upgrading specific items.
In general, weapons and jewelry offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated look.
